I had fun testing this, and I’m looking forward to playing it tomorrow at launch (provided I am not still playing Halo multiplayer). This seems like a step forward to a larger release down the road, but if you skipped the endgame of Outriders so far, this could be a time to come back with new expeditions and the removal of timers. I think this is a good addition to the game, though reasons to come back in terms of actual gear to loot are limited. Update: They did indeed tease Worldslayer, an expansion coming in 2022, which showed off new villain. So yeah, this is what PCF calls “perfecting the base game” and they do have plans to do substantive paid expansions in the future, which I believe they’re planning to tease a tiny bit today (I’m writing this before they do their showcase). As in, you will unlock a different look for your guns, but these are not actual new guns. I don’t know exactly how to find them, but I believe that some of the new secrets they’ve embedded in the Expeditions will yield new gun transmog skins as a reward. There are not new weapons or armor pieces in this release, which seems not great to me. New Guns But Not Really – If I have one issue with New Horizon, it’s that there really is not much of anything new to actually…farm for. Again, there’s a lot, but I don’t know every change yet. The Trespasser Trickster set is getting a survivability and damage buff. Technomancer and Trickster viability is being improved. It’s a great system that Destiny players in particular are going to tear their hair out over.Ī Bunch of Buffs – I don’t have the full patch note list of buffs, but I’m told Devastator is getting a rework to make its skills and masteries easier and more enjoyable, and to make that class better early on in the game. Not only that, but you can transmog your guns as well in order to have them better match your aesthetic. Yes, you can transmog between classes for the ultimate collection of looks. You can not only change the look of your class armor, but you can change your armor to that of other classes. Hell, you don’t even have to dismantle gear to add it to the transmog collection. No microtransaction cost, no in-game resource cost. True Transmog – Transmog is here, and it is legitimately one of the best transmog systems I’ve seen in a game for a few reasons.
